Part 15 Radio Product Reviews and Lab Evaluations
The mission of the equipment review area is to give the Part 15 radio broadcaster the ability to learn about equipment and services that will assist you in a positive low power broadcasting experience. The primary objective is to educate and inform on the potential benefits and downfalls of the evaluated products.
Product Reviews & Equipment Evaluations:
Lab Reviews are conducted by HobbyBroadcaster.net and usually take place in the evaluation lab. A balanced objective view is presented for both the non-technical novice as well as the broadcast-oriented technician enthusiast who wants more of an "under the hood" look. Reviews are written from the station operator's prospective and are independent of whether a vendor is an advertiser, supplied an evaluation sample or long-term loaner or if the evaluation sample was purchased outright. In many cases, other qualified tradespeople, installers, broadcast professionals as well as experienced users and radio enthusiasts may participate in the review process by providing their input.
User Reviews are written by knowledgeable end users and station operators who have used the particular product which is the subject of the review. Since the review is written directly by a station operator this is a good source of how a product operates in the field and how it may benefit your station's operation.
The product review team are readying more product lab evaluations. Part 15 broadcasters are encouraged to suggest products to be evaluated in the test lab. Manufacturers are welcomed to inquire about submitting their equipment for lab evaluation.
More product reviews and evaluations will also have a companion YouTube video produced as video equipment is made available during the product lab evaluations. Due to availability of production staff and equipment some reviews may not have a companion video review at the time the written review is posted on the site.
Equipment eligible for review includes LPAM / low power AM Part 15 transmitters, Part 15 FM transmitters as well as related audio equipment, computer hardware and software which can be utilized for use in a Part 15 station.
If you would like to share your own product experiences with fellow Part 15 station operators you are welcome to submit your own review for publication here on HobbyBroadcaster.net. We are happy to give you guidance on how to write your review and submit your product photographs. It's your chance to contribute to the Part 15 radio community and get yourself an author credit, too.
